Great Smoky National park was established on June 15,1934. The national park lies in between the Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains. The park is the number one most visited national park, first to the Grand Canyon. With over 850 miles of trails and unpaved roads tourists have a lot to do. Smoky Mountain National Park has over 4,000 species of plants that grow there. It also has a rich cultural history. From the Cherokee Indians, to the Scotch-Irish settlers, this land was home to a variety of cultures.
